Getting sick of pancakes posted at 23:45
It's friday friday! Gotta get down on Friday! Okay be right back, making pancakes. Finished making them. Had to finish up my buttermilk before they expire. It's a super simple recipe by Joy of Baking, click here. And if you can't find buttermilk, you can make it by yourself.
Basically you just have to combine 250ml of regular milk and 15ml of lemon juice. Let it sit at the counter for 10 minutes and that's it! That's a substitute for buttermilk. Buttermilk is also the key to making light, moist and tasty pancakes. It doesn't look nice though cause I made it super thin, but it's good ~ Should probably stop eating pancakes before I get sick of it.
Ingredients
1 cup (130 grams) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons (28 grams) granulated white sugar
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
3 tablespoons (40 grams) unsalted butter, melted
Plus extra melted butter for greasing the pan.
Methods
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.
In a separate bowl whisk together the egg, buttermilk, and melted butter.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and then pour in the egg mixture, all at once, and stir (with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon) just until combined.
The batter should have some small lumps. (Do not over mix the batter or the pancakes will be tough.) (The pancake batter can be covered and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.)
Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium high heat until a few sprinkles of water dropped on the pan or griddle splatter. Adjust the temperature as needed. Can also use an electric griddle with the temperature set at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Using a piece of paper towel or a pastry brush, lightly brush the pan with melted butter or oil (or spray with a non stick vegetable spray.)
Using a small ladle or scoop, pour about 1/4 cup (60 ml) of pancake batter onto the hot pan, spacing the pancakes a few inches apart. When the bottoms of the pancakes are brown and bubbles start to appear on the top surfaces of the pancakes (2-3 minutes), turn over. Cook until lightly browned (about 1-2 minutes).
Repeat with remaining batter, brushing the pan with melted butter or oil between batches.
Serve immediately with butter and maple syrup or your favorite jam.
Let's talk about "Get Hard" first. A lot of things were expected, especially the ending. Although it was quite funny, filled with stupid and adult jokes. Humor wise it wasn't bad, but overall and plot it just seems straightforward and common since Kevin Hart was in the movie. Some parts of the movie is somehow deem as offensive anyway, due to the remarks and the jokes. If you're someone who focus on the jokes and not really about the content, I think this would be a good movie to watch. To me, it was average, not really worth the weekend price I guess. Demonic... I didn't expect the ending to be like this. Well... You have to watch it to know of course. The jump scares were to a minimum like The Conjuring. The format is similar as well. Since it's by the same producer, James Wan. It's like a camera shot movie, similar to Paranormal Activities. I thought it was not bad, the acting as well. The only thing that was constant in my mind was: WHY WOULD YOU GO INTO A HAUNTED HOUSE IN THE FIRST PLACE?! ARE YOU INSANE?! I liked it to a certain extent anyway. Horror movies nowadays isn't that good anymore. I think movies in the past would be better. Oh and I never thought I would be alive to see the train run 24 hours. Okay bye! |
