So... If you haven't figure it out yet, the title of this post is basically a Japanese proverb. Literally it means: "Fall seven times and stand up eight". Meaning: When life knocks you down, stand back up / keep trying. I found this quite meaning to be honest, I was having a rough time with baking recently. Couldn't get a macaroons correctly: Overmix with flat macaroons, no feets, cracks and hallow shells. The pancakes I cooked tasted disgusting, it literally tasted like eggs + flour. Which makes me upset and depressed. And my grandma told me not to bake so much, nobody wants to eat it. That took me by surprise and I fell to rock bottom. Wasn't having a good day and stuff. But I guess that's life isn't it? So today, I tried to make my pancakes and macaroons again. Guess what? It was a success! Well the pancakes actually. My macaroons were a little undermix, but it had feets. It cheered me up quite a lot (it was quite obvious because I was dancing around at home). Like try try again. Persevere on my love.

My fluffy pancakes! With maple syrup. This was like half of the batch that I whipped up. Yup, the small measuring cup at the back is the rest of my batter. I was full by the time I finished eating this two pancakes. Which was a little dumb considering I reduced amount of ingredients. But whatever, managed to make a good pancake, so who cares? Anyway, this brand of maple syrup isn't that sweet, so if you guys prefer a less sweet maple syrup, this is the brand you should go to!

When my boyfriend told me he would be held up at school, I got bored and started baking. I wanted to make Molten Lava Cake, but I was so tempted to make macaroon, so I just went with it. (I wanted to perfect it so badly). And I did it! I didn't perfect it, but it had the little feets at the bottom. I know it looks horrible, but I'm proud of myself for having the feets. I decided to show you guys the past attempts that I did. Basically the first attempt had cracked & hallow shells and it stick to the paper. Second attempt, it was flat, although not cracked anymore but it still had hallow shells and stick to the paper. Third attempt, it just didn't have the smooth surface and some stick to the paper. So I guess I undermix it. I had fun looking at the feets form and feeling happy for the small accomplishment.

(Look at this adorable cutiepie)

I think life is all about finding joy in little things. Well in this case, it's succeeding in a good pancake and having feets on the macaroon. Even though it still have a rough surface. And seeing my after missing him for the entire day. It was a nice day to myself, and a reward to see my boyfriend to end the day well.

I love you so much.

Good night people
